Recently a fraudulent website that appeared to be Guaranty Bank was detected (see below). If you completed the form on this website by providing your security questions and log-in information, call us IMMEDIATELY at 1-800-288-8822. If you do not bank with Guaranty Bank, but responded to the web site, by logging in your bank's information, notify your financial institution immediately.
If you are presented with an email that requests sensitive information or directs you to a website that requests that you update or confirm your personal data (such as your mother’s maiden name, account number, etc.), please do not provide any information. Guaranty Bank will never ask for personal information in an email or from any of its websites. We will present to you your security questions and will not request you to type them in for us.
To protect against this kind of attack, it is recommended to be cautious when going to any site that you do not go to directly through your favorites or by typing in the URL. It is also critical to have anti-virus and anti-spy ware software running on your computer and should be kept current. Likewise, ensure that all security updates for your operating system (Windows, Mac, etc…) are properly applied. The combination of these will help protect you and your personal information, but cannot guarantee absolute protection.
