Phishing is a common form of Internet fraud. A phishing e-mail is one that is created by an unauthorized person to look like it is a legitimate e-mail. The intent is to try to get you to provide personal, confidential information so it can be used for identity theft and financial fraud. At Guaranty Bank, we take safeguarding your privacy seriously. We will never request personal or confidential information from you by e-mail.

Recently, you may have received an e-mail which appears to be from Guaranty Bank. This fraudulent e-mail asks that you visit a site and provide information including your user id, password, credit card number, PIN, and Social Security Number. We will never send you an e-mail asking you for this information. Guaranty Bank did not initiate the e-mail message. If you responded to the e-mail and provided your information, call us IMMEDIATELY at 1-800-288-8822. If you do not bank with Guaranty Bank, but responded to the e-mail by providing sensitive information, notify your financial institution immediately.
