Guaranty Bank assisted San Antonio
Alternative Housing Corporation with receiving $174,000 in grant funds from the
Federal Home Loan Bank's Affordable Housing Program (AHP). These funds provided
home repairs for the very low-income elderly and disabled. The project provided
97 clients with safe, decent homes by repairing long neglected roofs and
plumbing leaks, enlarging shower stalls, widening doorways and installing grab
bars. These improvements will allow elderly and disabled clients to remain in
their homes. Additionally, a ramp was installed to enable elderly and disabled
clients to function in their community and participate in educational, economic
and health opportunities previously inaccessible to them.
